New research by British scientists has found that compared to glucose-only consumption, consuming a glucose-fructose carbohydrate blend enhances cycling capacity following short-term (4 hr) and overnight (15 hr) recovery duration (https://doi.org/10.1123/ijsnem.2019-0211). The researchers concluded that: “multistage endurance athletes seeking rapid post-exercise recovery should consume fructose-containing carbohydrates.
