POTATO POWER: MASH AND SMASH FOR PERFORMANCE!

Consuming potato puree is just as effective at boosting endurance performance as consuming commercially available carbohydrate gels according to a new study by US scientists (https://doi.org/10.1152/japplphysiol.00567.2019). Compared to consuming plain water, 2-hour time-trial performance in cyclists was improved equally when either carbohydrate gels or potato puree was consumed during the trial.
